I am a struggling author, previously published poet and part time marathon runner. Oh wait, I struggle at all of those things.
Let me try again….
I am a struggler.
I have a fantastic six year old daughter, Matilda, who keeps me on my toes, helps me find perspective for life’s challenges and delights (there’s nothing like stepping on a square bit of Lego to put all previous painful experiences into perspective.)
I am also lucky enough to have the support of some brilliant friends and family who all try to help me get published via a constant influx of insults, goading, feigning lack of interest, genuine lack of interest, dream squashing, reality checks and ‘don’t give up your day job’ rants that all serve to make me more determined to succeed. In fact, if the measure of a man can be found by looking at his friends, then I am one sick, twisted, ugly individual!
I blog to sell my book, to entertain and to hone my writing skills. To speak to other fellow bloggers who have something interesting, funny or moving to say (not that they are mutually exclusive.)
Mainly though I blog to get ‘likes’, hear comments from people who I would never have the chance to hear from normally, or abnormally and I want to be followed. I mean who doesn’t?
I try to stay positive and good humoured which can be difficult in the face of work trials, family bothers and the price of Malt Whisky.
I am trying to build a decent blog and as such would enjoy your feedback relating to anything I have said. Follow me if you like it – and if not, tell me why not? I’m all ears (but not literally.)
Thank you very much for reading my page, whether you have read my book or not.
It’s difficult talking about yourself isn’t it?
I really struggled.
Have I mentioned I’m a struggler?
